Popular Nollywood actor, Yemi Blaq has blamed the existence of poor quality movies in Nigerian film industry on low budgets.
The veteran actor said low budgets in Nollywood are the major reason for the poor quality people see in Nollywood movies unlike films produced in Hollywood or Bollywood.
According to the actor,
”The disparity really is a question of budgets. when you see a regular movie in the states these days it’s shot with 200 million dollars, when you convert that, times 350, that is running into trillions, for one movie alone.
And here, if you shoot a movie for 50 million, it is a big budget movie. So the disparity is not in the contents, nor in the talents, it’s basically in the budgets.”
Yemi Blaq is a Nigerian actor, who came into industry in 2005. He has featured in over 250 movies and is one of the most famous stars in Nollywood, He also doubles as movie producer.
