Juju music legend, King Sunny Ade (KSA), has dismissed rumours of his death which was circulated round social media site, Facebook. KSA, in an interview with Punch’s Saturday Beats said he has not been sick and was not admitted to a hospital, as had been wrongly reported.
He said, “Don’t mind them. But they can’t kill me. God will not allow anything to happen to me. I performed at Tunji Braithwaite’s burial on Saturday night and I wasn’t ill.”
“I am just coming from Oba Awujale’s palace in Ijebu Ode as you are talking to me. I am very healthy.”
“I am not on Facebook, so I didn’t even read the story. It was friends that called me to tell me about what they read. I still pray for those who started the rumour. I don’t look for enemies and I don’t have any enemy,” he added.
King Sunny Ade has enjoyed a very successful career. He is regarded as one of the few African musicians who have gained international recognition for their attractive style of music.
